Every semi technical person at consulting firms is aiming to get into program management. It’s not that great a role, have you stopped to wonder whether you are only choosing it because others are doing so? There are much better roles to pivot to in FAANG like sales engineering, account management, etc
I kinda stepped into PGM role because I like to manage things from bigger picture; Maybe I need to look into other roles as well but I do not have much experience in sales engineering/account management. etc.
What's your background, may be I can refer you?
Just declined by Google and made it to their hiring committee, was a really close call
Program management is entry level in many firms requiring 2-4 years of experience and yes its heavily based on soft skills
High performer at D really means nothing in the grand scheme of things since D’s performance management process is so flawed. Most of the really great performers usually leave to better positions and pay. Usually the average performers are left behind. Do you have any technical skills?
It’s not a soft skill, but it is a commoditized one and there are a lot of people who have that credential (most with certifications if you don’t have one) and likely less expensive than what Uncle D pays people
