After seeing a number of posts about assigning work to staff & providing clear instructions, should it be done verbally v written, note-taking abilities of staff, etc., has anybody thought about recording a call or video for this? I feel like this could be very helpful, especially if there's screensharing with the WP in question open and navigated (obvs close out chats, disable notifications, etc.). Immediate & future benefits. Also, recordings could be used to send to off-shore teams as well.

Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

What would you do in this situation?

I went from making $70k the last 7 years to now started a new job a month ago making $130k plus $10k bonus every year, and $60k in RSUs. I have $70k in my 401k and around $50k in savings. Want to get out of the Silicon Valley which has been home my whole life and buy in TX or AZ a ~$400k house. I have about $20k in student loans which my dad has offered to pay (wants to make up for never supporting me) but I’m waiting to see what Biden decides for student loans. Is this feasible? My job (no longer a senior accountant) is high volume and fast paced. I’m getting on average 50 emails a day with at least half of those containing action items, in addition to the high volume of work I have on a daily basis. I am a CPA, have worked in audit and was briefly in industry and this is absolutely destroying my mental health. I need something a lot more laid back—I’m not afraid of hard work but this is too much. Please leave suggestions, I’m terrified of what this will do to me.
