A big monitor and a light-up keyboard that goes clickity clack when you type. It’s like built-in ASMR.
If i dont like the sound of mechanical keyboards, will I enjoy other things in mech keyboards?
A border collie. 🐶
Dedicated space, good chair, standing desk and mat, good keyboard, noise canceling headphones
Safe room to hide from spouse and children.
Chair, good amount of monitor space (ultra wide or multi monitor), good quality sound is a must for me. Bought some high quality speakers and never regretted it.
computer glasses that have a blue light filter
An extra monitor is a game changer. I also recently got a ring light that I can clip to my monitor and it’s been great for video calls because I’m backlit! Looking for the right mechanical keyboard to complete my setup.
Das keyboard (personally) but I also like the Logitech g815 and g915s. Really depends what you want out of it but I’m happy to help if you need recommendations
Diffuser, plants and a foot massager. I’m not getting stressed much anymore.
Big widescreen monitor was a game changer
I got a 34" MSI gaming monitor for like $350 and my only regret is not splurging for the slightly bigger one
Echoing what others said. A good ergonomic setup.
But then the fun stuff. A good set of speakers you can play whatever "focus" music you use.
I have a desk lamp that I turn on when Im in zoom meetings or conference calls. So it let's my other household inhabitants (my spouse also works from home) when I'm on the phone and can't be disturbed.
And then let's talk about how you can feed yourself. Meal prep or leftovers so you can just turn on the stoves throw something in. And then pull it out when heated up and ready. Minimal effort and keeps you focused on work and then you're not stressing about the time required to cook, ear, clean your lunch.
Stand up desk and LOTS OF Candles to calm the f down when you need it...
for me, i love all that stuff but keeping my environment fresh and being portable is what i need (as long as your role doesn’t require multiple screens). i take my laptop to a coffee shop, to someone’s house.
since moving in with family, i also save on rent, so have occasionally done a month in x city or a couple weeks somewhere else etc
Docking station, dual monitors, wireless mouse and keyboard, desk(obvs), noise cancelling headphones, things on your desk to simulate an office feel. I have just random things that I can tinker/fidget with.
