Anybody bought or sold a book of 401k plan business recently? I'm interested in hearing what kind of multiple it sold for, what other factors went into the price, and how the handoff process went.

I work for ADP selling 401K plans to businesses and converting current plans on other platforms to ours. As far as risk goes, we act in 3(38) capacity and as an advisor, you choose how much you want to be compensated on the plan. We typically see 25-50bps. If you're acting in RIA capacity, you can charge whatever you'd like and either invoice it to the client or have us pull it from the assets quarterly. Let me know if you're interested in hearing more or possibly partnering to grow your 401K business and income stream.

The Q plan biz is dead... ADP does them for free, decent sized plans only pay 15-30bp, plus you assume a lot of risk and now w DF you can't legally roll IRA biz out. Why do it?

like

They're still plenty profitable if your practice is built towards them. And yes, you can absolutely still roll the IRA biz out as long as it's properly documented.

Hi-I have 120K in cash in HYSA. After keeping emergency fund aside. Still have 75-80K available that I plan to invest. After 401k, HSA, IRA and monthly expenses: we are left with 6K every month. So investing 12K every month in market. My worry is with that rate - it will take us 12-14 months to move the extra 75-80K mentioned above. However do not want to make a bulk move. Any advise how to plan the switch. At present have 60K invested in stocks. Thanks

During benefits selection this year , I chose HSA for the first time and I am informed that my account is opened today. While registering on Fidelity, I am asked to chose between FDRXX/FDIC .I would want to chose from available options and invest money. Which option I should be choosing of both ? Also if I can’t chose options on fidelity, what should I do about it ? My firm opts only for Fidelity unless I’m wrong . Happy holidays . Thanks in advance

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

What’s the best way to deal with a partner that prefers working solo? For context, this writer I work with conceptualizes by himself, emails the Account team, gives deep input, and makes decisions for us without consulting with me (his “partner”) most of the time.
