I've never received a bonus or a holiday bonus. One time I got an agency branded beanie and scarf.
I got a bonus. I was shocked. But then it was used as leverage to not give me a raise. I was not shocked.
Ogilvy has spot bonuses. Completely at the discretion of the unit head. Usually they are given to employees who are long due for a raise bit the company can't afford to. As previous poster said, they are cheaper to give than raises because they are only a one time thing.
I got a pen, with the old branding and name from five years previous. So.
I believe bonuses are a management thing for the most part.
Yeah I don't think year end bonuses exist anymore... not in our industry. I've gotten an annual bonus a few times in the past. One time it was also used in place of a raise.
i got a company lunch.
Sometimes but get in March usually at the big holding companies at least.
Every year, at the agency I last worked at. But it's a minor agency attached to a major consultancy, so they follow consultancy conventions. The negatives of that aspect, unfortunately, far outweighed the positives.
I got a $500 one last year
I once got a nice pen. 👍🏻
ACD1, I got a scarf once too. Hoping I make it to company logo golf polo by the time I hit CD.
The VP of Budweiser once bonused everyone with their very own 6 Pack of Budweiser.
Some years are deeeefinitely better than others, but the entire agency gets them every year.
Nah
One time at my old agency. It was based on your salary and depends on how well the agency did. I was able to get engaged. I prefer a better salary if I had to choose.
At one of my old spots, 3 years in a row I got a month bonus. 4th year we got iPods. I felt like Griswold at first because I looked at it as salary. Then remembered a ton of people didn't get anything and felt bad for being spoiled.
LOL. I was just told today that our bonuses have to be "non monetary" because of our company's precarious situation.
Spot bonuses and holiday bonuses. Spot completely discretionary and holiday not guaranteed. With that said, only had one year without a holiday bonus.
Big holding company agencies I've worked at: never; smaller independent agencies I've worked at: usually.
