Interview the interviewer.
Asking good questions during an interview builds rapport with the hiring manager and gives you an opportunity to learn about the company from someone who’s there already.
The organization needs to fit YOU as much as you need to fit the org. Your questions should help you understand if the company aligns with your values and goals.

Report and document everything. It provides you protection under a number of different federal laws (Dodd Frank, FLSA, Title IX) and agencies (FINRA, EEO, DOJ, IRS), depending on the what they are doing.
It’s also the right thing to do and as a manager, you’re obligated to do it.
Before blowing the whistle, though, I’d consult with an attorney.
Haven’t you seen fight club, American beauty?
You’re meant to go threaten your manager and get a massive payout
Don’t do shady stuff. Do what you’re required to do and cruise along. Switch off your phone after COB. Don’t respond to emails outside of working hours and weekends. Play by the rules and stick everything to the letter. Do the bare minimum. That is likely to get you off client work and quickly affects your utilization rate subsequently leading to being counselled out. Win-win
I think it’s really important to set personal boundaries. If you perform well, then you get a lot of flexibility. Says good things about ACN2’s group and also ACN2
Ooh this is gonna be a juicy thread
Fired vs laid off for not paying the edu exp. read ur clause thouroughly
Think of what the bare minimum amount of work is and then do less than that
I think if you get fired (for cause) you have to repay that anyway, I’d check whatever you signed. The only way to not repay is to be laid off.
Again dont take laid off means you dont have to pay. Read the agreement thoroughly
Keep scheduling 8 PM meetings, don’t use mute button, show up to work late....
The possibilities are endless.
But if I'm involuntarily terminated, I don't have to repay anything. I've seen the people I work with do some super shady stuff, so I don't mind burning the bridges, but I don't want to do anything that would get me blacklisted or sued. I would also love to give them the middle finger and quit, but I don't have the 'fuck you' money I need to do that.
Any suggestions?
If this is truly a matter of principle, go ahead and quit. Not sure why you'd be comfortable with being bankrolled by unethical dirtbags.
30K
Just stop showing up to work
Agree w PwC 3. Also start interviewing. Perhaps you can work out a package that pays some of your Edu expenses back with the new employer. When you interview, don’t talk about/ complain about the shady stuff because most likely someone is doing it there too.
Some of the advice on this thread is crazy. If you’re seeing super shady stuff, call ethics. Report anonymously if you want. Call a partner you trust who isn’t super shady. Your plan means someone else is going to be subject to this behavior and while I don’t know who you work for, I am confident the leaders in that organization don’t want that to happen. Stand up and give your firm an opportunity to hold those people accountable.
come in early and stay late...without doing any work. that’ll show em
Sorry but your decision making is seriously flawed here. I get that you don’t have “fuck you” money, but I would imagine that getting the salary that you’re getting on a monthly basis is sufficient or maybe slightly less. Why don’t you consider interviewing for another similar job in the same field and then quit. This allows you to continue your life style, not to skip a beat / so not losing any money...while at the same time not doing some shady shit on your own by trying to get fired.
You are trying to say that your company is doing shady shit, but if trying to get fired is also not shady shit then I don’t know what is. Your argument may be you are merely giving them a bit of their own medicine while taking a bit of benefit on your own, but there’s a reason we have a judge, jury, and executioner- and you are neither of those in this scenario.
Interview at other places, quit, get another job...and if you feel it needs to be raised, speak to a lawyer.
I think what OP is concerned about is the very large lump sum amount they would have to pay back to their employer upon resigning. Not so much maintaining their current salary/lifestyle.
Personal loans do exist, but OP seems unwilling to take ownership of the debt they owe.
PwC4 - guess what- a lot of Partners are doing the super shady stuff. Surprise! Here’s the wake up call.
BTW good luck. That sucks
Document everything, make all correspondences about unethical behavior in writing, keep copies of all performance reviews and positive feedback, then report them. If they then create a hostile environment or terminate you, not only will you not pay back your education debt but may get a handsome settlement.
Call your ethics hotline?
Find a new job first and see if they’ll buy you out
Dang
if you are in PwC it’s very easy to get laid off. All you have to do have a client escalation and have a director and partner not back you in CRT. Does not matter whether you are rating 1 or 2. If you have one client escalation in your 5 yr career - D and P will not air cover you or cover you at all and you will be laid off. 🤷🏻♀️
