Concerta and Strattera didn’t cause me to gain weight, I couldn’t tolerate the nausea, Adderall made me too impulsive and binge eat, gained the most weight with Adderall… Vyvanse was the most effective for me
I haven’t seen anyone gain weight with either guanfacine or vyvanse, my friend who takes guan says that she can respond better to her body signals so she knows when she’s hungry and thirsty, so she never has to over eat because she wouldn’t go all day without eating, just stick to your normal routine with food and you’ll be OK! This medication is nothing like Adderall or Ritalin
I'm on Evekeo (it's the same 2 ingredients as Adderall, but in a 50/50 split instead of 75/25) and guanfacine. (Inattentive type) I lost weight after starting Evekeo. No effect on my weight after starting guanfacine. But I definitely notice a difference in my brain fog if I don't take it. Game changer for me. I also don't have any problem sleeping, so that sleeping pill someone suggested might not be necessary for you either.
I tried it for a while, but honestly I never noticed any effects
Guanfacine has been pretty weight neutral for me. I can’t touch the stimulants with a ten foot pole, but this has worked pretty well for me. Also helps me sleep which is a nice side benefit.
Thanks! This is helpful!
I am on it. Works well for me
I used to be on that medication before, I drink that medicine to control my blood pressure but since my blood pressure was well controlled the doctor told me not to drink that medication anymore so now I just drink Lisinopril.
