Anyone switched from Internal Audit to Forensic? How many years were you in Internal Audit? Is it a common transition?

Not uncommon. Feel free to DM if you want to chat

Apologies for the late follow-up. It says I don't have enough "likes" to DM people, but I'd love to chat (if you're still open of course). I'm approaching 2-year mark as an IA plus I had close to a year in public accounting before then.

Typically: 3 years in is the sweet spot (2 years min). 5+ makes it tough with your billing rate (if previously in IA consulting) and/or your likely desired salary…compared to the value you can provide for the first couple years.

You could shoot your shot at either. I work for a top 15 mid-market focused firm. While most promotions are no longer automatic based on years experience, senior still seems to be the exception and you just “get it” at the 2 or 3-year mark. You might as well save yourself a hurdle if you can since you have a few years in already.

Hello fellow fishes, currently I am working as an Information Security Consultant and wanted to switch my career into Cloud Security.

I have around 6+ years of experience in Information Security which includes ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2 and PCI DSS.
I have also done some cloud certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-500, AWS Specialty Security and currently preparing for CCSK and CCSP.
Can anyone provide with any suggestions through which I can switch my career.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
