I’m a CFP® and work as a test engineer for financial planning software. I’m pretty new to the tech space, and wondering what jobs might be out there in the fintech space as I gain more software knowledge. It’s kind of niche working in financial planning software as my background is financial planning. What kind of jobs are out there that might translate well and would have good earning potential?
It worked for me just fine...2008-9.
I think I bought a test question bank from a second source, Wiley rings a bell. Kaplan was weak on questions.
I used Wiley for the CPA and loved it. Not loving Kaplan to be honest. Feels clunky and really disorganized. I got a good discount through my firm and figured since I used Kaplan for the Series 7 and was happy with it, it would be good. Not the case but feel stuck now 😔
I passed with Kaplan in March. Worked for me but I've heard Dalton is a better option
Yeah I’m not loving Kaplan to be honest. I’m doing the review course and it feels clunky and really disorganized. Not user friendly to me. Maybe it’s because I really liked the setup/flow of my CPA prep software ha. I got a good discount through my firm and figured since I used Kaplan for the Series 7 and was happy with it, it would be good. Not the case but feel stuck now 😔
Go to Brett Danko and do not look back. Hands down the best CFP test prep, everyone I know who passed including me used him. He now offers fast track classes to get through the edu requirement quickly.
Yes I did only the review course
Did Kaplan...did education modules over 6 months while working full time...bought the review course but didn’t use it and passed...so obviously I wished I hadn’t bought the review course...it looked like it was probably very similar to the actual coursework. Overall, I was unimpressed...hated the video content and just couldn’t stand how slow it was...just read and did Q-banks.
Did Kaplan for test prep, also took the 4 day in-person crash course. I actually liked it. My main focus was on the test bank - did about 2000 practice questions.
