Anyone who took their 6 months of paid maternity leave and then decide to quit to stay an additional 6 months with their baby and then ask their group for a job at the one year mark? How did it work out for you?

My firm lets you extend leave unpaid for that long, so wouldn’t need to quit and then ask to come back.

like

This is the answer. Just take an unpaid leave instead of quitting and needing to reapply

6 months of leave???

There’s an ATL page with a table on parental leave for most biglaw firms. 20 weeks (~4.5 months) seems to be the high-end with a few exceptions.

Take unpaid leave. Harder to be hired back.

Graduating Ph.D. program 2021, received offer from tiny boutique for 140TC+random small boutique benefits. Would be better commute, non metro area closer to home. Waiting to hear back from well known life science boutique (think ZS, Clearview, Putnam). Offer would be for NYC office, would likely relocate.

If offer is given, a) at what $ is this worth and b) is brand everything for first firm out of school?

Also would the life science boutiques reasonably pay more than that?

I’m in Dallas and have been renting for 5 years. I don’t have any savings, but have about 30k in my 401k. Im thinking about leveraging that to buy a condo/or house. Although, I will have to pay back the 401k + pay rent, so maybe not a good idea. Advice/resources would be helpful.

Is anyone concerned the push for sexual equality in pay without accordant leveling of parental leave is gonna backfire?

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷

Hi everyone, I am getting ready for a job interview, and need to create a media plan. I was hoping someone can help me with the next task: basically, I need to create inventory recommendation based on past performance. What I am very confused about is that they gave me Booked Impressions (=4M), but in the task it says I should assume there is unlimited inventory. Am I supposed to use this 4M only to calculate spend, ROAS, etc., but can actually have unlimited allocated impressions? Thank you!
