It feels like there’s more demand for talent right now…
TL;DR: Can we chill with the “aRe wE aLL sCreWEd yEt?!?!?“ posts creeping up lately? If you are nervous about layoffs, do a thread search to answer your own questions. Check app regularly if want to keep up in real time. Ad folks always post here ASAP when layoffs have happened. It’s easy.
Multiple lazy threads like this do nothing but help freak out any nervous nancy finance dept bros speedscrolling Fishbowl … over something that has NOT happened yet even 100% to happen in the future) — Right before the Q3 quarter flip no less.

For better or worse, we are the people who created the 1st iterations of clickbait long before the newscycle figured out how to actively weaponze it to affect more than which peanut butter you buy… you know better than this.
You want to feed purse holders primed for paranoia to a spot where they hedge hiring the help you need to do your own job making your day-to-day shittier too? Take away remote flexibility? Lowball offers / wage freezes? If agencies start smelling some kind of mass fear amongst us — don’t question for a second they will use that to manipulate you into a spot you don’t wanna be in. Regardless of what the balance sheet **actually** is.
Work didn’t stop being made during their last overzealously premptive freak out. They just took advantage of the mass fear, worked those of us left to the bone, and still came out way ahead in the plus column…
I promise my point here isn’t to be a dick and shame you to do your homework. Just a PSA to everyone to please think twice before airing your own personal fear/anxiety rooted questions like this BEFORE trying to answer for yourself.
We all might actually make out of this ok … IF we as a community don’t give away the upper hand finally were given by catastrophizing ourselves into a hyptotheical environment that may or may not ever come to exist. Covid was a recession.. many of us were busier than we have ever been in our careers. It’s a crapshoot.
All we can do is keep doing the work and focus on what’s in front of us right now. Giving in to your fear of the unknown rarely does anythjng positive to change tomorrow’s direction, but we’ve seen first hand how it can havoc plenty negative.
So let’s all take a breath friends. And please continue to avoid feeding the animals. 😉💪
I hope the finance department doesn’t make decisions about layoffs based on fishbowl threads. If this is the case, we really are screwed as an industry.
RGA is the only one I’ve heard about in NYC.
I have not heard that. I have been asking around and not been hearing that.
Just rga I've heard
Nah. We're safe for now.
There’s definitely a recession on the way.
Has there been more than RGA? I have been really tamping down the stress about this but I'm starting to get freaked out.

I have heard some agencies are, but can’t recall their names at the moment.
