Hi Fishes, I am considering a Senior Engineer role with Alteryx (previously Hyper Anna) Sydney. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping if anyone here could share their experience of working at Alteryx Sydney in terms of Culture, work life balance, politics, work pressure, people, Leadership and product. Thanks.

I passed L1 and stopped. Not aware of any background restrictions to sit for the exam other than the education or work requirement. Presumably you met that. The biggest hurdle is probably going to be carving out study time while at a firm. And fyi, even you pass all three, your law practice might not qualify for the requisite work experience to get the designation.
No background restrictions. I’m a charterholder
I don't think they allow non-finance folks to sit for it any more. Do you have a strong math/econ/finance background? It is a hard test, particularly L2, and is often for investment management specifically. Do you want to do IM?
If you can already go up against investors and analysts then why do you need another few letters behind your name. It’s a significant time investment to go through all 3 exams.
My sister took it and is chartered if you have questions but would not see the upside at all for a lawyer doing this
After reading the context - she is still struggling to leave (financial) firm work with the CFA to an in-house role, because of her depth of very specialized experience, kind of too good for in house roles and nothing on point. So the CFA doesn’t just get you the job; they want experience
Took level 1 and then bailed to do other stuff. It was very fucking hard, even after a 4-year Finance degree and a prep course. If you decide to do it, don’t underestimate it.
I work in a VC practice group and can go up against any investor/firm analyst in terms of financial proficiency. In terms of pivot, just looking at IB, PE, VC analyst roles.
I work in VC (and have an Ivy MBA and used to be a banker) and VC is nothing like IB or PE--VC is all hopes and dreams and simple pro formas.
