As a CD-level designer, should my book reflect my most recent work, my greatest hits, or my biggest, high-visibility clients? Or all of the above? What’s the correct balance? And at what point should a project be “retired”?

Also, how important is it to keep it up to date with the latest? I feel like I’m constantly working on my book and it never ends. I flip back and forth between feeling great and feeling like I’m not that good any more. It’s getting harder to land jobs as I get older.

Looking for some advice here: I work for a client that loves me & I love him back as well. Get along super well with the creative team and we’re like “one team” . However, I am having problems with the management of my agency. I thought of maybe talking with my client about it (the CMO) to see if he pressures the account MDs. I’ve been negotiating a settlement on behalf of a client. OP is a major corp. we’ve gone back and forth for months, almost a year. Finally came to a final agreement and we’re reviewing for final signature. Then client is reviewing and decides they want something else modified. It’s a point of contention. OP has said no. Should I communicate this to client before pushing back against OP’s rejection of the mod?

I am project manager in clinical research industry (CRO). After earning PhD, I gave up my science dream to take a more stable job.
