As a Sr. Strategist, what are the benefits of going platform side (insta, snap, fb)? Does it get too sales-y? Is it worth exploring?

I've had friends go to Facebook and regret it as they were basically just salespeople

Do it only for the money, it's dumbing for a strategist and actually often counter-strategic work since everything you're doing is supposed to sell the platform.

Definite salary increase and, stability, normal work hours

I have a feeling you're not the strategist there, often - but it really does depend on the role.

If you go to a platform, try having some influence on their product strategy. Sure, you're selling the platform but you should be able to relay some important feedback to your product team. You should work with brands as beta partners and do some cool shit. Write some case studies. I'm trying to go there myself.

New to investing, but want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I've maxed out my 401K and am looking to open an IRA. I know everyone recommends backdooring this into a Roth IRA, but if my plan is to move/retire to a state with no state income tax, wouldn't traditional make more sense? Or am I overthinking this? Also, if I go the backdoor route, how do I make sure I don't get taxed again, when i convert to a Roth? Thanks in advance!

Appreciate some help with evaluating two offers: 1.Non-FAANG big tech: 155k base + 15% bonus + 90k stock + 401k match 2. Late stage startup (expected to ipo in 2-3 years): 130k base + 160k stock. Both are very similar roles in a HCOL city. Is it worth to take a pay cut to bet for the IPO? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What is your opinion on GARP financial Risk Manager (FRM) certificate? I am considering taking it (as I am FS Risk Consulting), but I am not sure if it really carries benefits. What salary did you find that you no longer had to worry about money? I feel like I am so behind in my savings/finances. Senior 2, I have about $30K in liquid $/cash and $60K total (incl. investments, 401k etc.). I know I made conscious choices to live in my own apartment since graduating (in HCOL area) and lease a car (to be fair, no help from parents and couldn't afford to buy one), but I feel like I'm way behind in life. Anyone else constantly feel like everyone else has more $$?

Real talk. My employer doesn’t offer 401K or any investment or tax-sheltered vehicles. That said—I have a side company I own but isn’t making income right now. Is it possible to invest in my own company, set up a 401K for myself there and get the 57K/year max contribution? Effectively, if I were to do this, the company would have me on payroll, contribute to 401K and ultimately take a loss.

Second year Consultant who came from a benefits broker. I feel like I am very much still learning the ropes of consulting. Was asked to help on a deck for proposal work for something I have no background/knowledge in. Told by the partner that I wouldn’t be creating content just story boarding and managing and organizing in the deck. The manager, familiar with the proposed solution, however seems to be annoyed with me that I didn’t create content. Not sure what to make of this?
