Possible but unlikely given separate teams and reporting lines. Perhaps a lecture about professional behavior.
If you were the one who referred your gf to the job, I would’ve disclosed that she was your gf from the beginning. But agree it shouldn’t be an issue since you are under different reporting lines. I wouldn’t have hid it though. If you’re open about it from the start then it shows that you don’t have anything to hide (which you don’t because you don’t work on the same team anyway).
No referral on my end, she applied and got position herself. Hindsight on mind end but didn't realize she was going to end up at same company as me.
Plenty of relationships that started at work ended in marriage over the years - do they fire one of a married couple afterwards? Not to my knowledge. Your private life shouldn't be on display at work anyway and you both are old enough to know about discretion. You don't talk about what's going on with "Harold, the big-mouth" on your team, with your gf and she doesn't talk about the drama queen who doesn't do her share of the work, on her team. Your relationship should be completely invisible to the other staff.
