Yes I'm sure it's all racism and not the fact accounting has always been white as fuck, especially back when those partners started 30 years ago. And women generally have to decide between the long hours and raising a family... we all know what the usual choice is for PA.
I'm saying 30 years ago most PA first years were white men and rose up the ranks. The starting class 30 years ago is the senior management today. So yes in the 30 years of public accounting experience group there isnt really some big pool of women or minorities being ignored.
BDO4, my school had more than 10% of minority and go back and read what I posted. Majority of the accounting students were in beta alpha psi and being in the E-board, I have seen all their resumes. Students from the minority had way more qualifications than the students BDO picked, but BDO didn't even bother to interview even one of them!
^White woman I bet
Minorities will always be left behind if all they worry about is race and that playing a factor. I'm a senior manager. I have yet to see any minority be affected by this so called system you say is in place. Because they worked hard and have risen up to the challenge of today. They look forward not back. I suggest you do the same and open your eyes. It's not 1960. You have every opportunity. If you choose not to take it, that's on you. So say I'm a white man and know nothing again. But think about me in another 10 years when I'm a partner and look the other way when someone like you comes through my door. I would take another minority over you every day.
@CH2 gets it.
Love seeing these post as a white male in a minority dominated office.
^Just because there's good diversity in the lower levels or one particular office, doesn't mean that it flows all the way upward to upper management.
Maybe I'm missing something but just in the link initially posted (audit and assurance services), I counted 10 women and 3 minorities in upper management for BDO...
^A white immigrant from a country with a deeply troubling history of apartheid and racial segregation?
So what's the solution? White men giving up their positions for upper management with more diversity? Would you give up your job and money for someone else? I doubt it
So promote based on race? What could go wrong
So replace qualified whites with qualified minorities just to fit the mold? Get out of here. You have lost your mind now. This thread is over

Still an idiot
Proudly. And you're an idiot, talking about a firm you don't work for and assuming things you don't know of.
You're still only looking at one small piece of upper management through that one link. Click through the other service offerings and you'll see more of the diversity at upper management that you're claiming is not there.
And you are only looking at assurance you idiot. That's why you're assuming things you don't know.
^So your argument is that there are zero women/minorities that are qualified for such positions in BDO?
So PwC, EY, Deloitte and KPMG were all hiring minorities and women 30 years ago, but BDO was not?
There's a lot more diverse starting classes now but we can't judge the outcome for awhile. I'd expect women to continue dominating private accounting while men more frequently stayed in public though.
You're just trying to say BDO is racist for some reason. Yes other firms have some women and minority leaders but chances are it's mostly white men just because most people with 30 years PA experience are white men...
