Ask honest questions , try to be genuine- I've gotten hired back by three agencies for freelance several times and good referrals so it pays to hold back a little
Don't. Burn. Bridges. This is too small of a community. Be honest to a point.
Exit interview is rarely about the scope of your job and your complaints. More about explaining benefits and how transitioning out of the company will affect them.
Thank you for posting CW. This is an great question without an easy answer. I probably burned bridges at my last place because I wanted the agency to know how f***** up the situation was. In retrospect, I'm sure those a******* knew anyway.
Be honest but not confrontational. Be more constructive. They would appreciate it and if you do come back, hopefully they took your comments to heart and made some positive changes.
Not worth it to burn bridges unless something was happening on the account that you felt was unethical or seriously wrong

Honesty is the best key. Approach answers as if your the one being left behind and will it have a cause-effect on the team!

There's definitely a way to be honest without burning bridges. Do that.
My policy: if exit interview is with teams, Boss etc. Honesty (politely). I find helpful to frame as "if I was to come back, I'd like to see the following changes" or "my new role offers a better balance of x y z". If with HR say nothing, they control nothing, and only protect status quo UNLESS something HR - discrimination, dangerous practices etc. You need that on paper trail, and if that's a factor, flag on handing in notice to someone trusted.
Yeah, don't burn bridges. Life's too short to be petty.
If you never loved it in the first place, it's on you. If something happened along the way, be honest, but not specific. Burned bridges don't rebuild themselves.
The role of an exit interview is just that, to pay it forward to the next people. Honesty.
Say it like it is and you will be Serving coffee within a decade
wouldn't worry about it. they are usually done by the most junior person in HR and they only track if they have concerns about specific individuals remaining or general attrition in your dept.
