Can anyone from KPMG comment on this article? Claim is that work was moved to December thus allowing people to have weekends off during busy season. Is this true and is it a shifting of weekends in January to weekends in December or just less ability to take time off? Glad KPMG can up their inspection rate and I am just skeptical on the actual impact

Well no they still require you to work on the weekend. Award good work with more work.

And that’s how you get good people to burn out and leave quicker sadly.
Also love that the quote from KPMG said that what they figured out was to give people more time to. Like wtf yes that’s the answer on all types of projects. The issue is the time is not available due to budget or deadlines. If accounting fights a battle to be the cheapest, timelines get crunched
I’m in internal audit at a company audited by KPMG and they made a big push this year to get most of their controls audit done by December specifically to free up time in January and February. Honestly seems to be working well for them right now 🤷♂️
