Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?

Most of the consultants make up their own cases there but I didn’t find them particularly difficult when I interviewed a few years ago. I did 2.5 cases throughout my two rounds.
When I was a case interviewer there, I gave medium-level cases from a case book bc I didn’t have time to think of my own case and exhibits.
No the framework is just a means to an end.
It’s all about logic - they assess your quality of thought.
The math is pretty easy. They know you can use a calculator IRL, but want to screen out people who aren’t comfortable with numbers. Plenty of meetings include quick numbers thrown around and if you can’t keep up you’ll look stupid.
The entire thing is highly subjective. You can get parts wrong but come up with a new way to solve the problem that impresses the interviewer and get an offer.
Think about it like sitting down w a client. Sound smart and logical and help them break their problem down into smaller pieces. Don’t freak out or reach for a calculator if they drop a number. Don’t force a stupid unnatural framework. Do have fun solving a problem with them.
