We were told it should be about $3 or so per pay check
For 2018, the maximum annual tax for FLI (Family Leave Insurance, I think) is only $85.

Essentially allows you access to 50% pay for time off when dealing with extended family health issues. (Or maternity leave, parental leave etc). Really pretty incredible
It's to help provide entitlements for people working at low skill jobs that don't have the same benefits we have. Next time you go to Duane Reade, tell the cashier to thank you.

@as1 I wish I was privileged. Using DR was probably a bad example, but I can guarantee that a lot of SMB will be selective in their hiring and/or start firing people they see as a risk, because many biz with a small number of employees simply cannot afford to have staff gone for 12 weeks. (Afford from an operations perspective not financial)
@senior manager 1 you're missing the point. Many smbs simply cannot function with people being out for 12 weeks.
Let's not forget the amount of people that this new plan will cause underemployment for. If you work less than 20 hours, you are ineligible
