Choosing between manager role in UK EY and UK KPMG. Role is in Infrastructure economic advisory. EY offer is approximately 10% lower comp but the Director has emphasised better work culture ( hours/ diversity) and greater diversity of work. Both know of the others offer.

Work variety is hard to judge and will likely depend on what's available. KPMG's team is larger so more sectoral experts who have dibs. Any truth to EY being better "culture" wise?

Been welding for my company for 13+ yrs and I think it’s time for a change. The culture has completely changed and became toxic. My dream is to go independent do mobile/rig welding and repair then potentially have my own shop/store front. I have all the equipment and truck setup to start but don’t know where or how. Got my score up to 800 last month only to go on vacation so my credit utilization went up to 8% due to the increased spending and my score dropped 35 points because I didn’t immediately pay the balance after charging the purchases.
