Consulting - what do you charge?

I'm no longer doing a W2 job and looking to do some consutling in my industry. I have a company who wants me 10 hrs/week to help them with their GTM efforts, strategy, some door opening. For something along these lines, what have you charged? Do you think about it as hourly or monthly or what? Will likely start with a 3 month engagement and working directly with the CEO/Founder.

How much can I expect on top of 25L fix pay? Also what principal consultant role is equivalent of in general terms ?

I've seen people say that if you're underpaid, you can't just outline your contributions because your manager needs a compelling reason for finance to bump your salary and they need to prove you're underpaid. So how do I present my case that I'm being underpaid other than "my friends make this amount in their role" or "Glassdoor says this" when finance can find rebuttals for these arguments?

Looking for some advice.. Manager left, I was given their work. Promoted few months after, but not to the role of my previous manager. Rec opened, I applied, didn't get it. We hired the new person and in my hopes to offload some of that original work back to them. I was told I'm going to continue to do everything my previous manager was doing. I'm still not a product manager even tho my previous manager was and the new manager is. Applying to jobs and concerned my title is holding me back.

Did anyone here turn down an in-house role for reasons other than money? I have SEVERE cold feet about succeeding in-house and it being more stressful and “busy” than firm life. Help!

I don't know if this is a recent change but I’m seeing postings for junior copywriter/community manager roles. Have these roles always been attached or posted at a junior level? Is this merged role worth considering as someone young in the industry with more traditional intern and freelance copy experience.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. I bought a house in the suburbs of Chicago at the top of the market. I ended up moving out of state in 2017 and short-selling. I am now interviewing for a VP Accounting role with the mortgage company that got shafted by the short sale. If I get the job offer, can they/will they see this on my credit report? Can they pull the offer due to this? Should I tell them before we advance further?

If your employer mandated you need to come in 5 days a week would you consider quitting? My situation is I live in my geographical territory and the office is 45 minutes away. No performance issues at quota consistently.

Looking to get into SaaS sales but my experience is in construction and fine furniture (I was a sales manager and was able to lead my team of 4 people to consistently hit 450k monthly targets). I've just accepted a BD role with a SaaS company that sells to DevOps teams. My background is selling to marketing/sales teams, and I heard software engineers have a completely different character than sales or marketing professionals.

I'm at an early stage tech start up and gaining experience in an industry that I like. However, I am getting no formal training or sales coaching. Everything I've done so far (Inc. Targeted marketing and prospecting) has been self taught and I feel like I am lacking professional knowledge if I was to move onto a different company, especially considering that I am not involved in the full sales cycle.

Does anyone know if it's possible to move from tech sales to strategy planning? I am a young professional and mostly have background in sales and account management but I do have an econmics and finance degree which could be helpful to move into more technical roles like strategy and operations.

What do you do to fight burnout? Got a raise yesterday and will get another in September, for dealing with a lot of stuff, but I can't shake the burnout.

Should I leave my company? Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. We hit quote every month/q/year by a lot. I have several offers at double my OTE. Already asked what the timeline is for a new manager and I was told soon and I'm "up for consideration." What would you do here?
