Creatives: when you were a student/junior what did you want to know about the industry that you couldn't find? Salary etc yes but what about career trajectories, networking, freelancing?

Switching team internally competing with external candidates. was asking a promotion for next grade midpoint but was ok to accept >=50% hike which i told hiring manager before the process start itself which he said will consider if I'm the one selected.
