I had interviewed with Deloitte UK consulting in June/July and was called by the HR team by the end of July that the interviews were positive and they're sending for approval for an offer to be rolled out. I was called back later in September and told that the role is on hold due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone else in this situation and have you'll heard back from the HR team post that
I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?
I have been interviewed and selected for a role in EY UK. The status of my job application is “congratulations on receiving an offer from EY”.
However I have not received any email yet.
Can someone confirm which team sends the final offer coz the HR is saying that he has processed everything from his side.??EY

I’ve recently moved to the UK and let me tell you the country has become depressed recently. I have been to UK for a couple of years 8 years back (pre-brexit) and it was a lovely and lively country back then. Now, post brexit and with the inflation and every public service going on strike every now and then, the life has become very difficult here. I was earning 30 lpa in India and here I’m earning 70k (in London) and I have realised the life in India was much better. Services as basic as health services are not in good shape. There’s scarcity of doctors, nurses etc and for all your medical needs, you’ll have wait for months. Your utility service providers such as water, council, energy, telecom, internet increase their tariffs every other month. Think thoroughly before making a decision.
Thanks for your input, I have seen it on YouTube, news about the situation.
I have almost dropped plans
What’s your goal in life?
If you want to have a comfortable life then stay in India. 40lpa is huge! You can do whatever you want with this money.
On the other hand 75-80k in the UK is good but no where close to 40lpa in terms of PPP. In the UK you will be able to save 2 lakhs per year but it comes with a lot of discomfort like homesickness, no house help, less friends, no family. But you will be close to the management and clients. So it’s good professionally.
Think and decide.
I don't have a goal, i do what I like and where it takes me to. Now, thought to explore new opportunities out of intel
Where in UK? If it's London then don't bother. You get 4-5k£ in hand and atleast 2-3k goes into rent. Not even counting other bills. In India even after living extravagant lifestyle you will save more than what you will do in UK.
Healthcare system is also going down the drain here, it's so hard to get doctor appointments, unless you're dying you can't see a doctor
Unfortunately if you’re working in London, Berkshire is the cheapest county where you’ll find many fellow Indians too. You could go a little eastwards, but not sure if health services are any better than Berkshire either.
One of my friends even suggested me to cry on phone while booking a doctors appointment to highlight the urgency so that we get the in-person appointment in foreseeable future. Life in India is so much better, I don’t think personally I’ll stay here for more than a year now.
Not worth leaving 40L in India. If you’re in London, you’ll save close to 20-25L. Regional areas it could be up to 40L.
It’s worth remembering you’ll be walking to buy your potatoes, taking the bus everywhere, cleaning your washroom, and cooking and washing utensils here to achieve that. At your stage, monetarily only US and certain places in Middle East makes sense. Not Europe - this is good for early career professionals.
Hope it helps!
Work culture is crazy good in Europe as well tho, you’ll have a very laid back and enjoyable life. And you’ll pretty much travel more than you could have imagine. If you feel you can easily land a well paying job in India if you decide to go back, worth taking a shot and coming here?

It all depends on what is your final goal- to settle abroad - choose UK or just save money - Stay back.
