Tbh, not crazy. Dude if you’re vaccinated go for it. Live your life
I stand by EY 1.
Some people are afraid to leave there houses which is fine but don’t stop others from living their lives.
I live in Orlando and would absolutely not go, it is a mess here and the hospitals are filled. So much so, that I as a pregnant woman have already been limited in having a visitor with me for the birth of my kid in a month or so.
I love the comments like - oh yeah, go! You won’t regret it! Tell that to the people- including kids - that are filling up the hospitals here. Delusional. The risk isn’t necessary — it’s a theme park… it will always be around.

Crazy to still consider
Don’t go
The school kids have it…what is Universal’s target audience, again? 🤔
Right.
Instead of asking people’s opinion, do your own risk assessment. Chances of kids getting it, chances of them suffering from it, chances of them dying from it…. it is up to you. People put their kids in harm’s way by driving them around and taking them to the playground or having them play sports. My fiancé has permanent ringing in the ears and had three concussions as a kid from playing hockey; he still plays hockey every weekend and would have been devastated if his parents made him stop. There’s risk and benefit to every choice you make, just like this one. Just do your own risk assessment and decide; no one can decide it for you.
What? I guess I shouldn’t have used the example of my fiancé; it was supposed to be an example of people valuing things differently and it affecting their risk tolerance. I am encouraging OP to look at data through a rationale lens, with the comparison being the experience for their kids. I absolutely would have pulled my fiancé out of hockey after the first concussion and I wouldn’t send kids to a theme park right now, but I am risk averse and don’t value theme parks. I am just encouraging OP to use data to perform a quantitative risk assessment with their own priorities and risk tolerance
Ha- ya nobody will be at Universal…why risk this…
My personal opinion is that you are not crazy at all. Iv been multiple times to disney during the pandemic . As long as you are vaxed you will be fine. The media is making FL out to be much worse then it is for political purposes.
I do live here 😘

lol you’re avoiding the schools but who do you think goes to universal??
I would go and wouldn’t think twice…took mine to Disney twice since it’s reopened…
Do not go.
As an Orlando resident, it’s up to you to make that risk assessment knowing the stats about children and waning vaccine efficacy for yourself.
I would strongly suggest that you all wear masks PROPERLY at ALL times because you won’t be able to avoid crowds (restaurants, attraction lines, walking around). The parks are operating at full capacity and have been reaching capacity often this year. Halloween horror nights will start attracting a huge crow starting next week.
I think that if you are anal about mask wearing, avoiding indoor dining, and skipping buses, crowded restaurants, crowded attractions, you can make it work.
With all of the above precautions, I felt at ease going to volcano bay recently.
Update: cancelled yesterday 😢
You did the right thing. Things are crazy here right now
Go, you won't regret it.
I don’t envy your position. One day when they’re older they’ll look back and thank you for keeping them safe. Hell, they may even be mature enough to now. There are a lot of creative things that you could do instead. Or just cash. Kids love a bribe.
Rolling the dice. In Florida, esp at theme parks, you will be exposed. How sick any of you get is chance. Hospitals are nearly full and if you’re flying you could end up stuck there if symptoms emerge before you return. Not a chance I’d take with my kids but hey.
