One word. Cobra.

You receive health insurance through the last day of the month in which you were let go. So if you were let go on 10/31 then that would be the end of insurance.

Ladies - how do you make friends as you get older? My social circle has diminished over the years as people have gotten married, have kids and move to the suburbs. Hi all! New investor here, and starting full time this summer (advisory, 75k). No student loans. Trying to figure out the tax savings accounts to open. Here's what I've gathered to open (in order): 1. Roth 401k and max out ONLY to what the company is willing to match (Free $) 2. HSA (via a high deductible insurance plan plus max out the HSA since I can consider it a secondary retirement account to invest in it) 3. Roth IRA (max this out too and invest) Any comments/feedbacks/tips appreciated!

Started a new job at tiny company that led me to believe things about them that aren’t true. I pay mostly or 100% for benefits, it’s not comprehensive & will have to wait two more months to use. Their only design person is their creative director and 3 years out of college. My second paycheck had $600 taken out for “correction for payroll” but no email or communication to me why (still waiting to hear). Projects are boring, but I’m trying to be positive. Going to start looking for a new job.

Thoughts on life insurance? My boyfriends brother started at Northwestern. I wasn’t buying into it at first. They played it up & I fell for it but now I’m contemplating it. I have a whole life & a term life, which totals $1M, costs $230/month. I have a 401k, Roth 401k, my own investments, I receive stock yearly from my company & purchase it quarterly at a discount. I have a finance degree, I’m good with my money, I budget, frugal & very in-tune with my finances. I’m just not sure if I need it.

Looking for advice on project management software or tools for HR consulting. Our firm doesn’t have anything that is standard or used at all, and while some of us are starting to venture into using Microsoft Teams, I feel like there are so many tools out there and we could be doing things way more efficiently. We work in small client teams (1-3 team members per client usually) and it’s a mix of strategy, tactical, and outsourced HR work. Any suggestions?
