Yes, it’s called business development funds. It’s in our P&L. We’ve done sports games, booze cruises (fishing), dinners, golfing…pretty much anything except strip clubs and prostitution. Those are actually called out no nos.
Also, no on the allowance. We have Amex that needs to be reconciled and expensed. Anything not approved we have to pay out of pocket.

Deloitte does but I don't since I have mostly federal clients
all the time
Of course

Depends on the client’s policy, but I’ve yet to be on a project where there wasn’t some sort of happy hour or dinner together. Usually for the more restrictive clients it’s a jointly hosted event.
We do issue everyone credit cards as well. And if you’re traveling we reimburse travel expenses and pay a daily $ amount for meals whether you spend it or not.
Pro
I like it because it’s flexible. No receipts. No rules. You’re not obligated to pinch pennies. Just like the next analyst over isn’t obligated to go out for steak.
Yes. That’s pretty common
Is it not a common thing? I mean our company provides credit cards for client dinners and other company funded events and expenses.
