Do you have to engage with different departments or do you only deal with your direct team members?

I engage with people across multiple departments just by the nature of my work. But that might not be typical for everyone. I'd be interested in hearing how others' experiences are.

I barely talk to anyone outside of my team. We have weekly call-ins with the whole company to know what's going on in other teams, but that's about it. I don't even know most of the people in the company outside of my small team.

I'm usually in touch with different departments. It helps things running smoothly. Plus, it's a great way to learn from different perspectives.

Has anyone butted heads with an office manager their age? We have a new one who seems to be trying to control my schedule during Covid (ie she assigns me office days without asking me, if I leave the office early or don’t come in one day due to video calls she emails me and tells me I need to inform her of my whereabouts), when that has never been part of her job duties before. Partners don’t care that I WFH.

Need suggestions: So I joined this bank and I was loaned to a different director in my team due to some long term leave for one of his SMs and audit with my director was deferred. The idea was that I would be involved in Fieldwork and take over reporting part. Issue is that I just despise the way this other Director is working. He would assign a task, and then start following up the very next day. And then after I send the document, he won’t even read that for a day!! Contd in comments

General Question I started tuition reimbursement last year in August. I since have an interview with another job that is paying a lot more. You know how you apply to something not really thinking that job would call back? Should I get an offer, what do I do about tuition Reimbursement? Do they send a check and tell me to pay it? Do they take it out of my 401k? I know a lot of people will say I never shouldve applied but I didn't think too much about actually get a call back when I applied.
