I work in US Tax and had an experience of 3 year. Had got an offer of 14Lpa in another big4,but still don't feel like continuing in US Tax. As taxation is something I do feel like I don't want to make a career anymore, because of work life balance & also as it specialised. Please suggest other option worthy to make a career shift. You guidance will be extremely helpful. My highest qualification is M.com.

Hi fishes,I have around 5.2 yrs of hands on exp in data engg. and able to clear service based companies interviews easily. Now I want to switch to product based companies as I am looking for some good work, good salary but I am not really strong in dsa as it's not part of my daily work.I don't really use trees and graphs as part of my daily work.
How shall I switch to product based companies considering DSA is their 1st round itself.what level of DSA can I expect from companies for data engineer position?

I usually take it off. You probably want to treat yourself and do nicer things than work on that day. It’s only once a year after all, so take the day off if you feel like it :)
I didn’t know they allowed children on this site…take all the time you need little boy or girl - you earned it!
Jokes aside…keep stacking sats and in short order this won’t be a question for you
I take my entire birthday week off. Birthdays mean different things to everyone. Do you...as long as it makes you happy.
March birthday. I think it was on Sunday three times over my career, those I sort of took off (maybe half days!) on a couple of years my family literally showed up at my house around midnight to catch me, or I would find presents at my front door. Eventually they sent cakes to the office that I could share.
It’s very millennial of you
Only in my 20s, and then that got old real quick. Now I’d rather save the PTO day for later in the year when I really need it.
I take the whole week lmfao
Every year!
Depends on what day it lands on-
Monday or Friday, yes
Any other the other 3 days, depends on how I’m feeling
It’s your day and your PTO, celebrate yourself, Queen!
If taking off for my birthday is childish then so be it lol taking one day is not going to hurt whether you have some planned or not
If your husband thinks you shouldn’t take a day off, then what’s the point of taking it if he isn’t planning to do something special for you? I’d take the day off and do something nice for myself anyway. Enjoy life and work can wait.
I take my birthday and often the whole week. It's nice to do something fun - I'm in my 60s!
It should be illegal to work on your birthday
Take it off or don’t. It’s your PTO.
One does NOT need to qualify the reason why.
Mine however falls just as few days before April 15th tax deadline. I celebrate afterwards.
There is more to life than work. If you want to take the day off, Go for it. Life is about enjoying little things here and there, IF the birthday falls on a busy day, I would not take it, or maybe take it when its not hectic, but if that week is fine with me missing I am taking it. I rather take time to have fun than to take sick leave because I did not take care of my self and did not keep a balanced life. Plus people are more efficient and happy when they do things that they like and enjoy....
For those who say it is childish, I genuinely want to know what makes it childish. You could wake up and a little later, drink coffee or tea with no rush nor pressure, go to an early doctor visit ( annual check up), take a walk under the sun a soak that vitamin D up, reflect on the year prior, begin a new habit or resolution for the new year. I truly fail to see what makes all that childish. Maybe it's just me.
We take days off to celebrate others. Why not take the day off to celebrate us. Enjoy!!!
I always take my birthday off. If it falls on the weekend, I either take Friday or Monday off. Not childish at all. We all prefer to do our own thing on our special day. Personally, I prefer to NOT be at work.
Work, don’t think much of it
I try to take it off if I can after having awful client experiences on my birthday a few years in a row, but I have clients with due dates the day after my birthday so it’s not always possible now.
I most generally take it off! Mine falls on the summer and close to school going back so it's nice to have a day with kiddos.
I take off because I’m usually on vacation somewhere.
