Hi all,
I have a offer from Perficient and joining in 2 months time. Question :
1: how is the company in terms of job security and projects? I work with web analytics
2: How is the hike and work life balance.
3: Attrition rate
4: Hike is good but will it be a safer vet like Accenture Operations?
Need some views from people working there.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?
Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. Nah I've seen my developers work through the night and weekends under serious pressure to get a project live for a customer. I've never had that level of stress in my career.
IMO marketing only has fire drills and emergencies if you let it be that way. Marketing is one of the best fields that allows you to build a plan and then execute. You can build a plan around busy seasons and forecast a lot more than other roles.
I agree! WLB is impacted when you have a manager that only operates in fire drill mode.
If you plan and anticipate, you should be able to sleep well at night.
This is my fantasy though. I’m still in search of a director that is strategic and not watering a garden with a fire hose.
I would say tech, sports and entertainment are worse- but we don’t have a cakewalk as marketers either.
No, not at all. I also wouldn’t see marketing as an industry, but rather a function. I think your WLB depends more on the sector you’re in, eg tech, pharma, FMCG, management consulting, and type of org (corporate vs smaller)
I work in tech so no… not at all.
It depends way more on the work culture enforced by leadership and how the planning is done with the manager.
When well managed Marketing can have a pretty good work-life balance. Launch days, deadline weeks or some date specific initiatives will bring more pressure to the team but if things are well prepared before hand you have plenty of time to make things work in normal schedule.
BUT! Saying yes to every idea that comes in is a sure plan to unbalance everything.
I think my work life balance is pretty similar compared to my friends that work in other industries. Everybody has busy weeks where they're maybe working a ton to finish something, but it all evens out in the end. I've worked in roles in the past where I felt like all I was doing was work and had no social life, but my at my current job I've been able to find a much better balance between the two.
Really depends on the industry. Agency versus client side can also make a big difference i think.
I know that social media marketing intrudes into my personal life more than other jobs I’ve held, and management doesn’t truly understand how much “on call” time the job has, answering customer inquiries and chats outside of work hours.

Marketing is like a vacation compared to support teams, infrastructure dev teams, etc…
I actually think my WLB has been great in marketing. During launches or events I will typically work more hours but I almost never work insane hours outside of that.
I’ve seen worse!
After 20yrs in this field, I’d say it has a decent WLB. There are times with you have to go the extra mile but with planning it balances out. You have to know how to prioritize and not get pushed around by management the best you can. I’ve said no to managers before that ask for things that are not my responsibility.
