Does anyone have any tips on how to turn down recruiters nicely? I was always told that it’s not a good idea to work with a recruiter fresh out of a clerkship for some compelling reasons. But I’ve seen a lot more posts from recruiters angling towards judicial law clerks and one company even opened an entire recruitment platform for clerks. I’ve gotten some messages from recruiters so I was curious to see how other members of the bowl feel about this topic.

Anyone here work in corporate strategy and can give an overview of the recruiting process? Was told it’d just be basic behavioral questions and simple cases, but wanted to confirm

Has anyone here use a resume writer before to help them rewrite their resume? I feel like trying to write about myself and be objective isn't the easiest thing. Get me in front of a hiring manager for an interview and have no problem talking about myself and my history. Getting it on paper and past the ATS is a different story.

If so, anyone you would recommend? Anything to look out for or suggest?

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

In the current lateral market what is the usual time for hearing a decision after a final round of interviews? For context, final round went really well, it’s not even been a week yet, they thought I was a great fit etc, said they’re expanding and looking to hire someone ASAP. Still WFH? What are other chambers doing for task management? Our chambers has been keeping up with assignments, incoming emails needing judge’s eyes, and written orders, all through Microsoft Planner. We share PDFs through Sharepoint folders. Although we still email draft orders back and forth, the system seems to work well enough. We still aren’t operating at our previous capacity because it takes 10x the number of steps to get a motion heard or an order entered—90% of our workload.
