Working on a global business from the US is beneficial with more clients consolidating to a central model and eliminating investment in small markets. Going into a market will likely be limiting ... however Asia might the only market with cultural benefit when you come back. Massive growth in marketing western brands and very specific online regulations for social.
SVP1: Thanks! How about working on a global brand where the central model is in Asia? I am wondering how agencies are outside the US/NYC, such as their client offerings and deliveries. How does the culture benefit when you’re back in the states? Are you referring to managing Asian markets/media from state side?
I’ve done it...moved to Paris/London then Asia and sadly no ticker tape parade on my return, only resentment for having seen the world :(
I think the experience and skills gained overseas were not valued, but rather seen as now being out of touch with the local market and not relevant. I was dealing in Chicago, could have been different in NY.
yes, working on global is beneficial, especially when you have a blend between Asian countries right now
Thanks! Can you provide examples ?
