Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure

In the short term, no. Firms are currently so desperate for staff, they will hire you
In the longer term, if you are someone who has 6-8 jobs in 10 years, you are going to be at a disadvantage when compared to someone who has had 1-2 jobs in 10 years. The employer’s mind will say “Why should I invest in this person that won’t likely be here in 2 years”
Another perspective to look at is not just tenure but promotions / level.
If you solely job hop for promotions / better industry / salary, then by the end of 10 years you could be much further along than the person who only job hopped once.
Your raise likely won’t be great cause you probably got a better base salary then your peers at KPMG when you first changed jobs. That is the nature of experienced hires, they lure you with a better salary and then future years, raise will be lower to get you in line with your peers.
Why you giving away recruiting secrets? You'd be a terrible magician.
No, everything is about demand and supply
I'm not B4 but I think it's short-sighted to keep jumping for a few extra dollars. It's a tight market so it shouldn't be hard to get more money to move but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a better long term trajectory. Find a team you like and stick with that and stop spending time having to reestablish yourself each time.
Nope, won’t be bad. I am on my 3rd and it’s not been a problem for me. That said, I knew on this one I have to stay a little longer so I don’t give the impression that I’m always jumping around. My first b4 was 7 yrs the next was 1. PwC3 is right in short term vs long.

Following cause I'm on the same boat. How long have you been at each?
There is a balance for sure. But also, as long as you have the right reasons and can explain why you’ve been moving around it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s all about the story you tell
Sighing big 4 probably not. But hiring outside of big 4 I would think so. If you wanted to switch to industry frequent job changes would be a red flag
Feel free to DM if you end up wanting to make the switch. PwC just announced their doubling the referral bonus uses in Audit. Not sure if you're in audit, but happy to refer you and split the bonus either way.
