I recently tried quitting everything last Sunday, with drew all last week and then relapsed Friday, Saturday and Sunday worst withdrawals I ever had (cold sweats, shaking, wasn’t sure I would survive). I’m through the worst of it now but any advice? Thought about rehab but can’t stop work. This is probably my 9th time trying to go sober during the pandemic. I live alone so the isolation with the pandemic has extremely escalated my usage to the point of about a bottle of a day on weekdays

I’m sober curious. I’m also about to help a new non-alcoholic spirit company with their launch.
I have a question for people in recovery. If a brand were to contend that sobriety is a spectrum, or allow for that to a least be part of the conversation, how does that make you feel? Are other brands doing a good job of being inclusive of people who are truly sober?
(I get that NA drinks / spirits can be triggering for people in recovery)

After 3 years, the therapist disclosed that she’s in the program. I had wondered often about the source of her knowledge of the steps. Still I would’ve preferred her to remain anonymous in this regard. Now I keep wondering about whether I’ll see her at a meeting and what her story is. So odd. So self centered of me.

I know that I drink too much and that it has become a problem. The challenge for me is that nothing insane or devastatingly life-changing has has happened yet because of it. (Con’t)

Have been sober for many years but currently relapsed and am in a downward spiral. I’m close to losing my family but I can’t seem to get my head together. Feel like I need a few months out, maybe take some time off work… has anyone done similar and did it help?

Sitting in the airport in Nashville. Whole lotta drinking going on. This town, like so many others can get raucous. Anyways, it’s late (10:30 flight) and I go to the coffee counter and ask for a black coffee, no room for cream. It’s like a secret handshake. Yes…I am, Said with just a small vague smile. No charge. Have a good night she says. I will, thanks. Grateful for one more day into this 2,948 day, 13 hour, 33 minute journey.

I think my boyfriend may have a drinking problem, and I’m looking for advice. Whenever we’re together, he drinks a few beers. But on nights alone, he will drink 8-12 beers and get wasted to the point where he doesn’t remember anything, sometimes during the work day. He will repeatedly call and text me. We have a talk the next day, he says he’ll be better, but then it happens again in a few weeks. I’m not sure whether it’s due to covid, addiction, loneliness, or another mental health issue.

I buy things I don’t need and don’t know how to fix it. I always blamed it on “drunk buying” but I’ve been sober for 355 days and it persists. I know I buy things in an effort to fill a void and try to feel something so I buy “things” but it doesn’t help and I know it. Any thoughts or suggestions?
