I do both. I have found that when students write on paper, they tend to be more authentic in the work.

When it comes to students doing their work, It varies from time to time. Mostly, they use google classroom and and seldom they use paper.

Paper or noted ink.com.

Paper first, then final draft on seesaw

Microsoft TEAMS has an editor, plaig checker, and you can monitor their work as well. It will also date and time-stamp submissions.

Both

I do it by hand. They need the practice and I can have them free from technology for a half hour or so.

I do a mixture of both.

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

I have a high level of ADD/ADHD students, so I was contemplating a Morning Meditation and/or Movement to help them focus more. I also would like to work on incorporating transition periods that will allow them to more easily convert to a six period schedule in high school.

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.
