Why are you working tomorrow? Do you hate America?

Any client that has an agency that is "open" tomorrow should demand an audit.

Working tomorrow. Although I'm freelance, so I'm charging for it.

like

+ if you're in fact, a freelancer , there's no such thing as 4 billable hours on a holiday. If I work one hour on a holiday you're paying for 8.

Zero.

@LB1 I'd rather save my time off for my big annual vacation and leaving early during the holidays

0. We're closed 👍

We're also closed, but the client isn't so I guess about 3 hours.

-8. The following working day will be lost.

Do you even 'Merica?

No reason to work tomorrow unless you're a freelancer. I am assuming your "billable" hours are billable for the company, not you.

I’m a first-time prospective lateral likely to get an offer shortly. I just received a lateral questionnaire that requests billable hours, rates, fees collected, etc. for the last three years. Forgive my ignorance but is this normal/standard? Do people actually answer these honestly? One of the reasons I’m leaving my firm is there isn’t enough work in my group so of course my hours are low.

I feel like it’s reasonable to not kill myself further to fit in more/turn things around faster at this point, but am I being unreasonable? I expect my workload to remain at this level through the end of the year at least.

Is it just me or the average billable work in infrastructure transactions has blown off steam in the last couple of weeks?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

A question from a youngster. Is working at a big big company with slightly low pay better or working at a much smaller company with higher pay better?

In the future, after a few years, let’s say I’m at a small company and want to switch to big big company, will the “small names” hurt my chance to get into the big doors?

I mean big big company is like 10x bigger than the small one if this was a factor. Assume everything else the same, WLB, commute, teams, etc.
