Finally got a tech job offer, which is what I always wanted...(non-faang but medium sized).

But now all this talk of recession has me think if it's even worth the risk of taking it with all these lay offs and down rounds for valuations (for RSUs).

Should I go or should I avoid tech now?

So was talking to this girl (we’re both mid late twenties) i met thru mutual friends and we hung out a few times/ texted a lot. I eventually had to move cross country and we slowly started texting less frequently & at a certain point she kinda ghosted me (lol I didnt pick up the signals). Recently found out I’m going to be going back to the same city in 6mo and theres a good chance I’ll run into her consistently since mutual friend groups/events. I dont want it to be awkward everytime…advice?

Hello, fishes.

Can anybody here refer me for a position at DE Shaw? Also, any insight on what should be included in the resume would be really helpful for me and others as well. I mean relevant projects/info related to the position should be included but anything else like resume structure etc.

Thank you so much.

so sad and frustrated. Consultants get the red carpet treatment in comp and everything else. Anyone not a consultant just left feeling ignored like we don’t matter. Any fellow support staff feel the same?

Hi All, I'm moving to a Corporate
Development & Strategy role at the
analyst level (fintech focused) I
wanted to get some transparency on
how much I should be asking them
for comp (please let me know base
and bonus)

My past experiences is I was a
investments banking intern at
Citigroup on the M&A team and was
a Private Equity Summer Analyst at a
healthcare focused fund. For the
past year after I graduated I've been
working in a rotational program
that's focused on institutional sales.

Why exactly is it so hard for people to understand that ESL and Special Education teachers are in fact that: teachers? I'm bilingual so I constantly get called in to translate for parents in the office as well because it's so hard to get a hold of the district interpreter. Today I was teaching a lesson that took us on a scavenger hunt around the building and the nurse stopped me. "Oh! This is why I couldn't get a hold of you, you're playing!" What? I tilted my head and replied, "I'm TEACHING."

Currently accepted an internship at a firm for the winter and also just accepted a separate internship over the summer with a B4 firm. Should I inform the other firm that I already accepted a later internship with a B4 firm or keep it to myself until the internship is over? They are totally different positions and I wanted to have some experience with both but worry they will take it wrong.

Really feel like I fucked up my career choice right now. Everyone said you could go anywhere from Big4 and it seems like that’s just not the case. Have my CPA license, went to a pretty good school, and it seems like the only jobs out there are more audit roles and internal accounting roles which seem pretty cut and dry. I need to get out of this job but I want it to be the right thing as well.

Was wondering if anyone has thoughts on such roles or...is it a dead end approach.
