Merry Christmas everyone!
Any thoughts on iCapital?
McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Experience matters more to me when staffing than the mba does. “Eh” undergrad plus strong experience is a no brainer over solid mba with no experience
A lot of people pivot into a new sector or start in consulting after their MBA, I largely consider prior experience in these cases pretty irrelevant

I have an eh undergrad and no MBA.
Credentials are overrated.

OP has some MBA buyer’s remorse.

Experience is 10x more valuable than an MBA lol. The highest performers are primarily homegrown or experienced hires from similar firms

5 YOE straight outta undergrad, $600k comp. If you don’t feel trapped, no need to get one
Hot take: Most MBA students are those who needed a second chance because they weren’t good enough in recruiting out of undergrad.
So no, they aren’t at all some high fliers compared to what you believe are “eh” undergrads.
Same here C3.
And it worked like a charm, the recognition of my grad school has led to more options (not to mention much stronger alumni network)

Why would an MBA actually make someone more qualified? It’s consulting camp for rich kids
You have just 🤡ed the vast majority of the bowl. 👏
Wtf is an “eh” undergrad. It’s all just marketing.
Definitely more predictive of success than descriptive of abilities
Was previously at EYP and recruited plenty of MBA’s.
Plenty of people with degrees from their public universities run circles around MBA’s, especially the entitled ones who come out and aren’t interested in getting their hands dirty.
In tech the MBA is considered more and more meaningless, it’s always a means, not an end.
I have 4 YOE and no MBA - make 200K here.
Nope I went to a target. But I’m an experience hire.
It me 🤗

I make what you quoted with 6 YOE, no MBA, and a degree from Penn State. Not that crazy or hard, “eh” UG be damned!
We are!

How does it make no sense? The entire industry pays a lot. Makes sense to me
How??? I’m an experienced hire but not making 200 k…
Nah I’m at Deloitte, senior consultant.
Ah okay total comp makes me feel better then.

No. Sure didn’t. Worked for a fortune 50 company for 6 years.
Back when I worked in IB, we’d joke on MBAs because they couldn’t make the cut out of undergrad
