For those of you that have a good relationship with your creative partners, do you hang out together outside work or are y’all just on an ‘at work only’ basis?

Feeling a deep void in close human connection after letting go a relationship that was lacking a future (I was interested in something more, he was unsure). Can’t stop thinking of reaching out and need strength to just stay with the loneliness and have hope for the better times. Would appreciate support. It’s been 2 weeks but I feel bouts of extreme sadness and desire to have someone to share my life and days with.

Financially entering the most expensive season of my life 🤦🏾‍♂️. Making the most bread in the family is all fun and games till you get those christmas lists! Not to mention flights to see family. Do y'all feel like being successful in finance changes the expectations family members have for you, especially during the holiday season?

M26, I'm scared of a relationship. I've never been in one before and mostly had FWBs and just really good friends but never made the leap. Part of me is torn cause I think I'm still too young, ambitious and enjoy my independence but I'm reaching a point of getting tired of the same old same of opening up to new random people and making new fwbs I'm emotionally and physically invested in. Salam. 23M here - all my life I’ve had my back on our faith - never really prayed but had imaan (I guess). After bouts of depression from girl problems (🙄), issues within immediate family, being disappointed expectations I had for myself, etc. I’ve been working on bettering my situation over the years. Faith is the only area where I think I need more guidance. Having trouble relating to friends or family about this. Anyone else been thru something similar? How have you connected back to Islam?

Anyone else dealing with emotional trauma that is bubbling back up thanks to all the free time we have to think about shit endlessly? Or the fact that frustrating family brings up stuff, but since they are now 80% of your human interaction, it's a lot more overwhelming? How are you dealing with it?

I have realized I grew up in a household where my dad did not treat my mom as an equal. He belittles her, is rude and convinced his way is the only way.

It is painful to say, but some of this shows up in me and in my relationship. I am starting to catch myself, and it to me seems to be more of a reaction than anythjng that is ever intentional.

I am generally uncomfortable when I’m around my mother-in-law’s husband.

While he is overall a decent guy, his anger issues, yelling at his wife for the slightest issue, and insulting nature makes me uncomfortable and triggers my own anger due to his blatant disrespect for just about everyone around him.

A long post: seeking some perspective. My husband of 2 years that I’ve been in a relationship with for more than 8 years just woke up one day and told me that he’s unhappy in our relationship. I’m devastated because he’s never expressed anything like this in the 8 years. He’s been super supportive and loving, even when we were in a long distance relationship. When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??
