Hello Guys,
I joined Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?
As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

Im newish to Thermo Fisher Scientific but trying to understand the promotion cycle. It seems vertical career moves within Thermo are much more difficult than diagonal. When you are looking to move up a career band how often has that movement actually happened vertically in the team or group you work in?
Anyone know the raise amounts for BCG yet?

If I had a dollar every time I heard that excuse. You held up your end of the bargain. Senior management should carry the lion’s share of the responsibility for losses but it’s highly likely they’re still getting their bonuses every year. Sorry, I’m just annoyed because I’ve been in this business for so long that I am hyper aware of the same talking points over and over. If you’re at a holding company your agency has no excuse for not giving you the raise. Trust me, they have the money.
My company just announced no raises or bonuses for this year so I’m looking to move on immediately. The CEO still got millions though so there’s that. If they don’t want to give you a raise…move on ASAP
3 months tops before seeking elsewhere
Hopefully they gave you a timeline otherwise what VP AS said above- 3 mos max. They are just dangling that carrot farther out.
3 months, I was done the same way. I was promoted and it worked out well but I was suspicious. Also, I bet it doesn’t work out for everyone.
I wonder why they will announce the review without knowing when they could get you the actual promotion. I would say 3 months is more than enough time
maybe like 3 months but if you don't hear anything different by 2 months start looking for another job and apply with your new job title
Will you be back paid to your review date? Sometimes it’s nice to have a little mini “bonus” 😂
Thank you! This helps.
While waiting for the promotion, consider other opportunities within the company or externally that align with your career goals. Explore whether there are lateral moves or projects you can take on to gain additional experience or expand your skill set.
Yup. 90 days. Get your promised promotion or bounce..
In my first company I had almost the same thing happen. Everyone around me kept getting promoted to their respective next level and I was told over and over “you’re next”. One of the times someone was promoted I was visibly angry and my boss called me into his office to reassure me that my turn was still next.
I quit a few months later and they thought that they could try and keep me by finally offering me a promotion and raise after I put in my two weeks.
I didn’t even let them go into the salary, exact title. I was just so ready to get out of there. I had been there 2.5 years taking on a ton of projects during my tenure and the thanks I got was a promotion after i said I’m out.
My mind was made up, I accepted another offer and moved to another city for it.
My advice is to go with your gut. Like Senior Associate 1 said above, maybe three months tops. But if you feel like things aren’t moving just start looking elsewhere for a place that will pay you what you deserve.
Good luck!
Thank you for your insight (and also everyone else in this thread!).
I’m struggling because I love the company but have heard whisperings the next time we could possibly be promoted given our agency’s financial situation is November. At that point I will have worked there for 1 year 8 months 😑 feels too long to expect someone to wait for a pay raise…..
I’m going to try and get a date out of them that they’ll make this happen and if it continues to be vague, I may apply elsewhere…
Hey! I’m back & still in a pickle. My company had layoffs and laid off an account Sup for me to slide into their spot. They told me “I might be promoted in sept or oct, but it’s hard to know for sure because of company finances” (we just laid off a bunch of people), but you are ready and the account you’re moving on is scoped for it.
I’m sorry but how long can I hold out on this? I’m on an account that IS scoped for a Sup and I’ve been doing that job now since May but they “aren’t sure” what they can do now. 😑😑😑😑😑 I’m about 2 weeks away from applying elsewhere. It’s been 1.5 years since I’ve had a raise.
I would start looking elsewhere. Annual merit/inflation/whatever raises are sadly hard to come by in agencies, so promotions and leaving are the two ways to increase your earnings. As someone who has only seen a merit/inflation raise once without it being tied to a promotion or leaving, it sounds like they’re taking advantage of your high performance at lower cost to them…
