The phrase “Managers have more control” gives me the actual creeps.
He’s a vertical storyteller
Chief
My “”vertical message” for this “vertical storyteller”: 🖕
Control...ughh
I strongly prefer WFH. But I expect most of us will be going back 🤷🏻♂️
Agree with ECD. So much push back on here though. Will be interesting to see where we all land by November.
Personally, don't want my home being a permanent place of work but I'm down for some days away from work. This will probably be the model imo.
We polled the schoolchildren to see if they’d like more recess.

Yeah, the freelancer scolding full timers about “recess” as if burnout wasn’t the industry’s #1 issue, pre-pandemic, is a bit rich.
First, objectively I've been more creative away from the office. However, I also noticed I don't have close relationships since I'm in my headphones for most of the day so I don't bounce ideas off others like those who do. I did notice it's something I should work on being away from people this long, but posts like this aren't truly focusing on nuances. I'm not necessarily wrong for coming up with ideas alone for most of the time, but maybe we should be better about including others who work differently 🤔. So, yes we need to be in the office to develop some relationships and invest in the surrounding economy but, by no means we are lacking creativity. It's nice to have moments where I'm not commuting used for taking a walk and recording a memo which gets transcribed to notes to share with my team on a call. I also don't play foosball.
Lol @ ACD2 🤣 if only you knew how you can pay for these
Look at this guy still thinking employees gaf about foosball tables in the office rather than having an actual life outside of work.
I do not want to share enclosed space, that’s less productive, with people bragging about going to festivals every weekend. Nope.
Vertical snake oil salesman all over it.

He’s not wrong. Things take longer remotely, the bar for work is lower, that sometimes means employees end up working later.
But LinkedIn is not the audience for this post. Other executives are.
Overall, working in the office is not better for employees. You’re just not going to convince them of that. And you’re definitely not going to convince them that the office promotes “boundaries” when employers obliterated boundaries as soon as we all got cell phones. It helps them form a bond with the company and their bosses, you could say that. It helps people who can schmooze climb the corporate ladder. But overall, it’s harder on them. Which is why employers favor it.
So the ball is in employee’s court. They have a little bit of power and know that employers aren’t looking out for them or their personal lives. Whether companies go FT or hybrid will ultimately depend on whether their are talented employees willing to do it. But you will never convince employees they’re happier in the office.
So tone deaf
He’s vertically wrong.
And vertically challenged.
So glad I quit bbdo
And what a story he told.
Most of us don’t feel this way. Just the out of touch leadership.
“Managers have more CONTROL…” sounds like a sweet dude to work for or with. 👌
An agency leader that missed an opportunity to discuss “fostering our culture”? His second point is what’s going to make people leave for somewhere less controlling, where surprisingly the output is just as good.
Def no longer has vertical storyteller on his linked tomorrow.
I’m surprised this wasn’t pinned. i’ll assume the mods here are ad execs.
