I am at what would be considered one of the smaller offices. Been here a few years and never felt a sweatshop vibe. Office culture will obviously vary widely so can’t say much without knowing which office(s) you’re looking at. Pay largely dependent on your receivables, so depends on what practice group you are in, how much you bill those clients (can vary a lot between practices and obviously between offices), how much of that you (your partner) can collect, etc. Happy to answer any questions
@A4 that will vary by market but generally Corp/real estate demand higher rates than lit (im lit FWIW)
I worked in a smaller GT office and now work in a large one. The smaller one was more of a sweatshop—fewer bodies to spread the work around.
They have a sweatshop vibe? First I’ve heard. My understanding has always been that they’re very generically biglaw (for better or worse).
I heard they were relatively chill, compared to other billows that are known for being sweatshops.
I think it’s very office dependent. I have heard of one where the partners are even billing 2700+
