Listen to them
... be patient, it’s part of their process
There might be many right fits OP. Have patience.
If it’s a holding co agency, it can take a hellaciously long time. LOTS of layers and negotiating and HR protocol, surprise hiring freezes, etc. If you love the job, don’t give up, but if it’s a big agency maybe prepare to hunker down.
I was the first person they interviewed for my current job. Took them three months to offer me the job.
I just had a similar experience. There were about 5 weeks of silence from my interview and then they came back with an offer.
Hang in there.
5 weeks?! That’s ridiculous
My latest job was the same exact, and made me start to worry about if I’d be hired, how they’d be to work for etc. it’s the best company I’ve worked for, and worth every second of waiting. Sending you positive vibes that yours is too!
Sounds accurate.
Many hiring managers are gun shy and prefer to see more candidates before making a decision. We try to tell them it's a dangerous game because we lose great people to other offers while they go through more interviews with others. Sometimes they find someone better, sometimes they need the psychological reassurance that everybody else is less than the one they liked before they make up their mind. It's like dating - some are about giving time/having options, others are like OMG let's go the Vegas on day 1. Hang in there. There's a lot of internal chess.
