Meeting with just HR tomorrow, likely to get fired. I thought there would be a partner involved but guess not? Performance issues.
Thought I would share this cool website that is currently tracking hiring freeze/layoffs/rescinded offers.
Lets not forget conservatives fired the team trained to handle pandemics
Is internal audit considered a “safe” practice to work in during a recession? Or are the employees in that department at a high risk of being furloughed or fired? I’m looking for honest answers.
Laid off or Furloughed? Live in the NY Area? DM me for a part-time role to help pay the bills!
Hey Donald Trump, you’re fired!
First year associate here - really freaked out by FS layoffs and think I might be next. How am I supposed to find another job after 6 months?
I am having the hardest time pivoting back into full time recruiting. I have 13 years of experience, but was laid off in May 2020 due to pandemic “cutbacks”. I took a year off, did some other work and worked for a friend part time who has a small RPO doing recruiting (specializing in placing POC in tech). Now that I’m trying to get a full time recruiting position, I’m getting nothing but rejections. I’ve been a Snr Recruiter, Snr Recruiting Manager and Principal. Not sure what I’m doing wrong?
I was laid off in March and have a had a hard time finding the next job that’s a good match. My last job was a total nightmare and so I’m being very intentional with my next position. Does this major time in between jobs concern companies when hiring or is it understandable during these uncertain times?
Laid off and looking at next steps. Any desi fish who can give me a referral to MBB? Heard they’re hiring the most people at the moment.
Didn't max out my Roth IRA in 2019 due to a layoff, have about $2k to go. Am I better off contributing to 2019 while I still can or contributing to 2020 instead?
They laid off half the workforce and cut our bonus pool, but goddamn if they won't spend thousands on "networking events" no one enjoys going to
Worries that we’re heading in a recession and may get laid off since I just joined a company and am new. Am I crazy to have those thoughts
Joined my firm 1.5 years ago (3rd year, lit) and have been slow since Day 1. Missed my hours target last year and am on track to be just as slow this year. I am staffed on a few cases but they’re quiet right now, and I regularly ask for work just to be ignored or told “thanks, but I have nothing.” Reviews have been good, I’m just not working enough. I like the partners I work with, and the work they do, but I am scared I’ll be fired if I miss my hours again this year. Should I be looking?
What do I do if I get laid off during my PERM is in progress ? Should my new employer start process all the way from pwd- ad -perm again ?
I hv only another 13 months left on my h1.
Tax question for any Accenture people who were part of the layoffs in August...did you see anything weird with state withholding on your W2? I relocated from VA to NJ in early 2020 and my state withholding switched to NJ when I moved. However (and I never noticed this at the time), all of my earnings, including severance, paid out PTO, and COBRA true up, are shown as taxable income in both states. My tax accountant is scratching his head.
If you’ve been laid off during COVID or in the past, do you tell everyone you know or just people who can help you? I have been laid off due to COVID and tried to tell most people in the industry so I can find work, but I’m finding it emotionally draining to tell each person in my life, including every friend, relative and neighbor, that I am unemployed. Sometimes I just say everything’s fine when they ask me in order to save face and avoid their pity. Is this normal?
I have been laid off by Deloitte. Can anyone help me out finding a new job? Position: IT Advisory.
Nervous about putting in my 2 weeks. Feel like its going to be unexpected. Advice on fighting the nerves and best way to put in notice?
One week down, 51 to go
Friendly guide for you to “leverage” at work
Gonna leave this here.
Hi! I’m moving up from seventh grade to high school, and I’d love some advice from anyone who’s done both? I don’t really know what to expect. I’ve been in middle school for seven years, and I only did one high school placement in college.
Hi everyone. As someone who’s starting my career remotely, what are some tips/words of advice that would be useful to know? Thank you!
I have 5 months to H1B renewal. KPMG has not started the process. Anyone know when they start the process and how long does it take these days for the renewal?
Interviewing as a Finance Manager for a company halfway across the country. Relocation hasn’t been brought up yet. They know I’m out of state. Can I assume relocation will be offered since they didn’t say it wasn’t? Should I ask before going onto the final round of interviews? Company is owned by Fortune 500 company and has over $250 m in revenue. Also what could I expect to be included in the package? I’ll be a individual contributor.
Any opening for (Business Continuity / Operational / Model) Risk Management/Governance in Kolkata?
Can people with less than a year of exp and a master's degree aim to get a job as a consultant with Deloitte or are they supposed to aim at analyst jobs?
I have 4.5 yoe in data science and data engineering. I was approached by D HR. What sort of salary range should I expect. I believe it would be for Consultant role.
If it helps, my current is 12 lpa
My procrastination game is strong! Taking BEC next Monday and am so behind on studying. Only on chapter 2. Planned on studying yesterday but binge watched movies till 3 am instead. FML.
Leaving big 4 and going to industry was the best decision I ever made. For everyone struggling, there's a light to the end of the tunnel.
I'm friends w/ my mgr. as in we kept in touch when I left public and now I work on her team since I came back. Do you think she would be less likely to give me negative feedback? All my informal...
It's really awk when folks go all out with the calculator when splitting an inexpensive lunch/dinner bill. I'm more of an "I'll get this one, you get the next one" type of guy.
