I didn't read all of this but based solely off how much you wrote I would say you are over thinking it all and need to chill
Pwc1 😂
Blood sugar was low earlier. Just had lunch and I honestly don’t care anymore lol....
I wish....
Neigh?
Pwc1 you were right. I emailed her asking if by interviewing for the TPM position it’d hurt my candidacy for the product manager position. She got back to me saying well we’d like you to email for as many teams as possible and ultimately it’s up to you to decide what’s the best fit .
Yeah I mean nothing against HR but usually they just identify candidates and screen them to make sure they aren’t insane
Continued.... neighborhood of 150-160 base and she said hmm but she said hmm after basically every sentence I said so didn’t think that was strange. I also said I was flexible since I know that equity is a big component as well. What was strange was that she said we also have a technical project manager role that I think you’d also be a great fit for so I can send you the job description after the interview and then in the email she said the hiring manager is open to speaking to you this week. I’m not sure if she was offput by my salary request or it’s because I did reference my scrum master responsibilities quite a bit when talking about my project experience but I equally mentioned the business analyst/functional lead responsibilities as well which closely aligns to the product manager role. Part of me thinks they have a dire need for a project manager but another part of me thinks maybe that’s her nice way of saying that’s too much $ for this position or maybe your background doesn’t align with the needs of this position. Thoughts?
I think If it was too high she would have told you... what level are you and how many years of experience do you have - that would determine the $$ and experience for the role to get that amount of base.
But yea also want to add that the convo flowed effortlessly and she was probably the best HR person I’ve spoken to which means a lot considering I’ve been speaking to HR at many top tech companies recently. Thinking maybe she felt the same so she wanted to bring me in any shape, form possible. She also mentioned at the end that once you join our company you can move around pretty easily so....
How much experience do you have? Sounds like you do generic functional at DD?
Dd1 4.5 yrs... not necessarily generic I’ve been kind of all over the place from e-commerce to CRM to erp with digital strategy sprinkled in there as well
I would be skeptical about someone in HR knowing what roles are good fits even though it’s supposedly their job.
Acc1 I agree since they usually look for buzzwords and even when talking to google, the recruiter literally listened to me ramble on for 10min when he asked me about my project experience and at the end of the call he said I’m going to pass you on and the next interview we’re basically going to see if what your resume says is true cause I have no idea what you just said 😂😂😂
But this recruiter kind of knew her considering she actually did consulting briefly and project management isn’t exactly the most complicated domain to understand
Lol insane
