Dear all,
My friend is trying to get into her 1st full-time job. Previously she worked as a UI UX designer for multiple clients (freelance). But she couldn't manage to get an interview call. She is an excellent UI UX designer and an illustrator. If anyone has any options, kindly comment below, I will share her resume. She is a btech graduate with 2 year experience in ui ux designing/illustration field.

I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?
McKinsey & Company Any advice to help prepare for data science analyst role at top consulting firms (McKinsey & Company EY Boston Consulting Group etc)? Any materials, open source platform recommended to take on freelance data science project? When should I start actively looking and applying? I am a new grad who is working in tech as a marketing analyst I’m looking to pivot to marketing& sales data science consulting next year. Would like someone with similar backgrounds offer some practical tips.

Not boasting but I got 2 solid opportunities via LinkedIn applying cold. I think the ultimate key is to apply as soon as the job is listed. Applying to roles with less than 10 applicants versus applying after 24hr or 3days.
Companies are required to list positions that they fill internally. It is all a game, and we should be tired of playing it. Your best bet is to start your own company. Find a problem, make solutions. Charge for the solutions. You will have to multitask, and fill all roles at once, but that is what we are coming down to. Companies aren't hiring, they are pretending to hire, probably for government subsidies.
In almost all my years, I’ve only been at one company where it seemed like internal fills were preferred (and even then, that still means another role opens up). It was because the talent at the company was exceptionally strong.
Most companies I’ve been at would prefer an external hire.
The gate keeper is someone who went to 1 year of community college and has Caribou Coffee barista listed on the bottom of “experience” on their LinkedIn. This “Associate Recruiter” is holding you up to a position that pays half as much as it used to. Congratulations to the modern job market
Many of these jobs are ghost jobs. If you click on the actual company that is hiring and go to the website to find the actual job listings. Usually the job does not exist.
Not just U, its a dead end for sure. Same thing has happened to me since last Feb of 2025.
I got 3 reach outs after applying on LinkedIn last November, though none of those turned into an offer
Yep! I got hired in an in-house position from a LinkedIn application
i found out that when a business posts a job on linkedin they have to pay in groups. like 5 job postings, 10. etc. and if they dont use all the jobs they decide to create ghost jobs that dont exist so they use all of them. this is why many jobs dont exist. its not the company its the service providing access to the job market.
If you really want to get that’s job , you need to explain more about you . You easily online find any company information , but company does not know about you . really interesting
I've applied to over 60 jobs since November and nada! It use to be so easy to get a job. Now it's a total challenge.
get feedback from people in your network who are at a tier comparable to the hiring managers they can help you optimize your linkedin profile. after I did that I started getting recruiters approaching me for good opportunities. I found claude also helpful at reviewing my CV and linkedin. One area is that i was under selling myself and had not acknowledged my leadership experience that some are looking for. Hope that helps.
I did a year and a half ago. I tried to only apply to jobs that had been posted for 24 hours
If you've chosen to change careers after working in the same industry for over 20 years, I imagine you've accumulated a wealth of experience. Since you want to give it up, you must have your reasons. If this job isn't the final destination, and you still have the opportunity to switch careers, why not give yourself a chance? You might be surprised by the results. As for stigma, that's only temporary. If you successfully change careers, those around you will only envy you and understand your resolute decision. Conversely, if you remain in the same field for 20 years without change, the chances of changing careers in the future won't change either.
