I had an interview with Edward Jones for an IT position. The interview felt off. It was a weird format and there wasn’t a lot of organic discussion. I had red flags popping up all over the place. Ended up getting offered the position which pays insanely more than my current gig but I’m concerned about the spidey sense I got during the interview and can’t shake it. Anyone have any feedback on the company’s culture wrt innovation, technology strategies, or just overall advice? Thanks!

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Thanks for the responses! Did you negotiate during the call? If not, what’s an appropriate way of expressing gratitude without accepting on the spot?
You don't get the actual number offer on the phone (at least I didn't) so it was easy for me to say I wanted to review the offer. You will get a follow up email with the actual offer details. I responded to that email turning them down... I think I also emailed the partner who called me directly telling them I wouldn't be joining but I can't remember.
