Has anyone here ever had to deal with working for a nightmare partner? One of the two partners at our small firm is the WORST. He makes racist jokes, inappropriate comments about clients, and makes me generally uncomfortable. His wife is our HR department, so I can't go there. Any advice?

If my boyfriend pays me fair market value rent every month, can I claim this rental income and therefore take advantage of rental expense deductions and depreciation? If so, would expenses and repairs that apply to the home be counted at 50%? I started the construction for a rental dwelling in 2020 that will be on the same property, but won’t have paying renters until later this year. I’m hoping that by claiming his rental income for 2020 then I would also be able to capture those expenses.

Newly in-house. Apparently, it was bad to offer my opinion that slightly differed from the managers, even though I was invited by said manager to review their suggestion with an internal client. We collectively discussed how to make a document better. I responded to an email that said "hey you and internal client - could you both see my suggestions (which differed from the clients). How should I answer the question, “did you earn income working remotely by providing the services in a different state than the state you originally engaged employment with it”? Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. So confused how this works and got conflicting information from Merrill.
