If the entire ‘mental health initiative’ is four PTO crumbs and a Canva poster, just say you’re not interested in fixing the conditions that are burning people out. Mental illness isn’t a branding opportunity, and wellbeing isn’t a checkbox on a leadership scorecard.
If a company actually wants to support mental health, it stops manufacturing the stressors, trains its managers, funds real care, and builds a culture where people aren’t punished for being human.

I guess four mental health days is not enough. It's like a formality. My company takes it very seriously and conducted sessions every month.
We provided our staff access to a service called Forte, which has psychologists and coaches which they can use at their discretion. It has really helped staff avoid burnout, work through family issues and recognize healthy development through their coaches.

In my experience, access to support is often more valuable than just a few extra days off. A good wellbeing program can make people feel supported and help prevent burnout before it becomes a serious issue.
