It can be a smart move if you know your value and the company wants you. It’s risky but sometimes pays off if done confidently and respectfully.
yes know your worth
It really depends on the delivery, but if that is how they approached the conversation, my response would have been to wish them luck. There is no way I would have hired that person.
It doesn’t matter how talented that person is if they are going to be a PITA to manage.
If you're not fungible and your skill set would make a substantial difference to the success of the company… Otherwise you'll just sound dumb.
Many ppl have done that in the schools who are not teachers. Mostly seen by school psychologists bc we have a shortage of school psychologists in this area.
I don't believe the story.
I'd never say that but if I knew I was the best and had options I'd say that my pay expectations aren't negotiable and x competitor pays above market.
